OKLAHOMA VS. NEW ORLEANS IN JV FINALS
Classen JV (OK) defeated University of Detroit Jesuit 305-255 and then overcame John Cooper (TX) 355-255. In the meantime, New Orleans Jesuit defeated Parkland (PA) 225-150 and then they overcame No. 1 seed Gadsden (AL) 340-255.
At halftime, Classen led Jesuit 120-100. Classen then outscored Jesuit 80-20 on the Seventy Seconds Round category MURDER IN LITERATURE, then Jesuit advanced 60-20 on SOCIAL STUDIES. Classen took a 220-180 lead into the fourth quarter, which turned out to be their finest hour. They scored 20-point steals on these four questions:

When Quest Academy (Palatine, IL) won the Elementary National Academic Championship in 2021, it was the first time an Illinois school had won a national championship at any level. Next Generation School (Champaign, IL) not only won the tournament in 2022, it was, after the Finals, declared the greatest team ever. Those two schools met in the finals of the 2023 competition.
The Next Generation vs Quest title match was tied at 110 after the bonus round. It was tied again at 200 after the Seventy Seconds Round. Midway through the final period the score stood at Next Generation 280, Quest 300.
